January 1, 2008 (Tuesday) "Tour d'Orange". Officially the first car event of the year, this will be the 5th edition of the Tour d'Orange. Over 350 cars participated last year, expect the same this year. Meet on Redhill Ave. between the "Auto Kennel" and Newport Shelby. The Auto Kennel is located at 3001 Redhill Ave., Bldg 6, Suite 109, Costa Mesa, CA, 92626. Newport Shelby is at the corner of Redhill Ave. and Fischer Ave. Parking lots at the Auto Kennel and Newport Shelby. Lots of street parking on Fischer Ave. Meet at 8:30 AM, maps at 8:45 AM, DEPART AT 9 AM. There is no formal notice besides this. All cars welcome. Please pass this notice to your respective car clubs and like minded enthusiasts.

March 2, 2008 (Sunday) -- Annual San Diego VSA Temecula Valley Winery Tour.
The group will meet at the MOBIL gas station at Highway 79 South and Bedford Ct. in Temecula (just east of I-15). We leave from there at 10:30 AM. ROUTE: East on Hwy 79, turn left at Butterfield Stage Rd., continue to Rancho California Rd. and turn right. First stop is The Ponte Winery just past Anza Rd. on the right side and park to the right. Afterwards, continue east on Rancho Calififornia Rd. to second stop at Wilson Creek Winery and park to the right. Next onto Glenoaks Rd. & turn right. Continue to De Portola Rd & turn right. Six miles later at Anza Rd. turn right, make next left onto Pauba Rd., then a right onto Calle Contento, the third winery Bella Vista is on the right, parking area with picnicking (lunch) and lake for our use. April 19, 2008 (Saturday) - Mark Jankowsky's Annual East San Diego County Drive. A traditional day of exploring parts of beautiful East San Diego County. We plan on meeting at the usual location… the Chevron Gas Station on Via Rancho Parkway, about 1/4 mile east of I-15, in Escondido. Plan to be there BEFORE 10 AM. The drive usually lasts for several hours and includes a fun lunch stop. This years tour will visit the Old Julian Highway, Dudley's Bakery in San Ysabel, Lake Cuyamaca, and the Sunrise Highway. April 19-20, 2008 The Scandinavian Festival 2008. A tradition at California Lutheran University for over 30 years. Over 6000 visitors last year. Once again the Scandinavian Festival will be held from 10 AM to 5 PM on the beautiful campus of California Lutheran University, 60 West Olsen Road, Thousand Oaks, CA. Both days will be filled with music, dancing, food, lectures, demonstrations, vendors, and lots of activities for children. Scandinavian crafts offered: Danish Paper Cutting, Finish Friendship Bracelets, Icelandic Paper Volcanos, Norwegian Card Wool, and Swedish Dala Horse Puppets. May 1, 2008 (Thursday) - Track Day at Thunderhill Raceway. Limited participation, so register early at Golden Gate Chapter of VCOA. Spectators are FREE. There is no "racing," just a chance to drive your car fast on the track under safe, controlled conditions. Instructors will be available. Lunch will be included. You will get at least four 20 minute on track sessions. Your car does not need to be modified or race prepared. You need the regular highway safety equipment in good condition and your car will need to pass a simple tech inspection. You will also need a helmet (rentals are usually available at the track). Car groups are divided up according to car potential and driver experience so that you can be in a group that is comfortable for your skill level.

May 4, 2008 (Sunday) - Davis Car Show and Swap Meet. Hosted by the Golden Gate Chapter of VCOA, This is the largest annual Volvo Event in California with thousands of Volvos (ok… 120 plus). It's on Sunday morning and will run until late afternoon. Swap meet stuff, raffle prizes and a "People's Choice Ballot" judging event and award trophies for Volvos old and new. The event is at The Davis Central Park Pavilion, 3rd and C Streets in Davis. It is a wonderful park with grass and trees and a playground. Downtown Davis shops and restaurants are a short easy walk. Event goes all day. Be there early, stay late… then go away.

June 1, 2008 (Sunday) 3rd Annual Los Angeles Concours d'Elegance. 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Parade of Winners at 2 p.m. This judged event will showcase 350 extraordinary classic, vintage, antique and exotic vehicles, including European and American classics and sports cars. More than 50 specialty and race cars of the past and 31 classes of horseless carriages, prewar and postwar classics and exotics will be featured. There will be vendors, food and beverages. All proceeds benefit Assistance League of Southern California.
Location: Rose Bowl and adjacent Brookside Golf Course in Pasadena--the cars will be arranged on 25 acres of lush, green lawns.

From million dollar cars to kids with $1,000 cars, we have every type of person and vehicle attending. This is another very interesting aspect of our events; we are the only event in So Cal that offers such far-reaching diversity. The show will be 9am-1pm at 31303 Agoura Road, Westlake Village, 91361.
